Vietnam Veteran Donates Property to Help Fellow Veterans

If you have a piece of land that’s not being utilized or a house that’s costing you money in maintenance or taxes, consider donating your real estate to DAV (Disabled American Veterans). Your property donation will help our nation’s veterans and relieve your burdens.

For David H., a veteran himself, it was a way to return the favor after all DAV did to help him.

David is a U.S. Army veteran who suffers from PTSD and other injuries from his time in Vietnam. After serving his country, David went decades without getting the benefits and care that he earned. Then he found DAV.

“Nobody helps our veterans like you guys. That’s the bottom line. I wish I would have known about you guys earlier," said David.

DAV helped David finally receive the benefits he’d earned. So when he was ready to part with a property he owned in Oregon, he decided to donate it to DAV to help his fellow veterans.

When you donate your property to DAV, the proceeds of the sale go directly to supporting men and women who were forever changed while serving and sacrificing for our freedoms.

DAV accepts any property type — land, farms, homes or commercial properties — in any location, as long as there is equity. And if you owe back taxes, have a mortgage balance or have deferred maintenance, it isn’t a problem. DAV will pay off all loans, liens, commissions owed and all closing costs.

Plus, when you donate your property to DAV, you may even claim a significant tax deduction. Your real estate donation will provide life-changing support for our heroes. Find out more about DAV property donations by visiting dav.org/real-estate-donation or by calling 844-277-4663.
